What on earth is a blog?
The word 'blog' is short for 'weblog'. It is an online diary or webpage where we can record our news and share ideas.
Why do we have one?
Deanery Synod meetings are a fantastic place to get information and share ideas, but often your best idea or burning question doesn't occur to you until you are in the car on the way home or when you are reporting back to your PCC. The blog will enable us to share ideas and questions between meetings. If there is something you want to say, simply find the relevant article and click on the word comment.
How do I find my way around the blog?
The articles (or 'posts') are displayed in chronological order. The best way to find your way around is to look at the topics menu on the right hand side of the page and click on the topic that interests you most. You will then see all the articles about that topic on your screen.
Is this a public website?
Yes. Anyone can find us by typing Dorking Deanery into google and anyone can comment on an article, so please do share it with people in your churches. However, only a few people will be able to write whole articles and the site will be closely monitored. I will be logging on regularly and removing any comments that are rude etc... If you see anything you don't like, please email dorkingdeanerywebmaster@gmail.com and I will address it as soon as possible.

From Rev Paul Bryer - Rural Dean
Welcome to 2010!
Thursday 11th Feb is fast approaching when we will be meeting as a Synod to focus on Youth! Full time Youth workers - Jimmy Young from Churches Together, Stuart Ryland form Westcott and Steve Henwood from St Pauls will be helping us to explore the realities and vision of being chuch with and for the children and young people of this part of Surrey. There will be a Briefing Paper available in a couple of weeks time to prepare us for what will be a highly interactive and significant Synod. Anyone working with Young People is welcome to come along. God Bless
Rev Paul Bryer - Rural Dean
